The contribution explores the concept "a friend of Czechoslovakia" on cases of Robert William Seton-Watson and Henry Wickam Steed. It follows the changes of their position in Great Britain as well as in Bohemia/Czechoslovakia from the perspective of their authority and influence.

The article is an attempt to apply existing theoretical social models of power on historical situation at the beginning of the first Czechoslovak Republic. It analyses the possible use of Galbraith´s model of power in historiographical discourse of interwar Czechoslovak society.
